Partnerships
The two associations share the common ground of promoting Emotional Health; their mission and activities are complementary and mutually supportive. Both organisations’ experiences are focused on listening skills. In the domain of Emotional Health, IFOTES is particularly active in intervening on the phone and internet with adults while E4P is particularly active in primary prevention with children in schools.
Specifically IFOTES and E4P agree to:
- Share information about the two organizations and ways of working
- Meet regularly to discuss matters of common concern
- Invite each other to their major events
- Provide links to and from each other’s websites
- Define a three-year action plan for joint projects which is based on the IFOTES congress agenda
IFOTES has close relations with the partner organisations
IFOTES, Samaritans/Befrienders Worldwide and Life Line International created ESA (Emotional Support Alliance), a worldwide network which common aim is to:
- Improve access for people in distress to emotional support services
- Maximise impact of value of emotional support services through advocacy
- Increase information exchange, best practice and networking between members
- offer training to promote the awareness of emotional health and suicide prevention
- share information material
- make joint presentations at international events
- cooperate with other organisations that share the same concerns
